Ploidy after whole-genome doubling

Whole-genome doubling is common in cancer, and the cells that undergo it
do not remain at the doubled state. Ploidy falls afterwards and settles at
values that differ by cancer type. The project asks what that convergence
tracks with.
Cohort: TCGA multi-omics, 23 cancer types, roughly 10,000 patient
samples. The work involves arm-level copy-number calling, differential
expression modelled continuously against ploidy, survival analysis, gene
set enrichment, deconvolution of bulk expression into cell-type fractions,
and a simulated dataset used to validate the pipeline.
Mostly R, some Python, on a dataset large enough that pipeline design
matters as much as the statistics do.

Infectious disease research
an infectious disease research center · about one year
A year in an infectious disease control laboratory during my
biotechnology programme, as part of the curriculum. It put me in a research
setting roughly two years earlier than the usual route, and in a second
domain.

Seven books from Japanese into English, freelance, while studying. One

university entrance exams. All three were admitted.
